It’s a section of a larger work I wrote for a creative writing class a couple years back. Four interlinked parts revealing monsters of various shade, beginning with a werewolf in the making (the guy in the headlights), on to Mary, freshly minted, then Uh-Joe, a monster tried and true, and finally a butler they meet at the hotel, who is perhaps the most pernicious monster of all.
I may try to market the entire piece at some point, but I’m having fun with breaking them into flashes so far. First was published as a 100 word piece in Flashshot (100 words wasn’t enough…) and I’m hoping to place the butler section soon. I really like that one.
BTW my piece to New Myths was rejected at the final cut. I’m hoping yours got through and will be published there.
The entire monster piece sounds marketable indeed. I look forward to reading it.
New Myths emailed me today: “Interesting tale. It almost made it, but there were a couple of stories we liked more. I’m going to have to pass this time.”
On to the next…
